Enjoy a relaxing weekend workshop devoted to the art of floral watercolour painting, developing your expressive and creative skills.

Hosted by floral and textile artist Clare Robinson, the full 2-day workshop is designed to introduce beginners and intermediates to the medium of watercolour, helping you nurture your own style. Clare will demonstrate and there will be plenty of one-on-one guidance to help enhance your observation and expressive painting skills.

Clare will guide you through the steps to illustrate a variety of seasonal flowers and foliage gathered locally, experimenting with loose-style and wet-in-wet watercolour techniques, sketching, composition and brush work to convey the textures and colours of your chosen botanic. 

After an introduction to Clare’s work and a workshop plan, the weekend will start with some sketching to progress to creating a beautiful floral painting using loose style watercolour.

Clare Robinson BA (Hons) Textile Design is a watercolour artist and textile designer with a love for the painterly and softly drawn images. She has collaborated with British Heritage brands, designing bespoke artwork and prints for homewares and magazines, also teaches classes and runs wellbeing workshops with UK charities.

INCLUDED: Tea/Coffee, art materials, paints, brushes, watercolour paper and pencils. If you have your own art materials please bring these along.

NOT INCLUDED: Transport, Accommodation, Lunches (either bring packed lunches or use the onsite cafe). Walking shoes, waterproofs recommended.
