Clare is a watercolour artist and textile developer/designer with a love for the painterly and softly hand drawn images. She grew up in Cheshire and her love of flowers and fine detail was apparent at a young age and after firstly studying at Manchester College of Art & Design, then graduated with a BA (Hons.) in Textiles from Loughborough College of Art and Design.
Based in London, Savile Row she had a successful career as a product developer & designer for luxury heritage brand Ede & Ravenscroft and extensively travelled in Europe and Russia. A stint in Los Angeles working for Samsung Textiles, developing fashion prints & fabrics brought her closer to her passion of creating and developing bespoke textiles and working with manufacturing, she then took up a creative product developer role at the iconic British Heritage Brand, Mackintosh, Glasgow which brought her to Scotland.
Since starting up on her own and establishing her own studio & brand in Perthshire, Scotland she has collaborated with Johnstons of Elgin, designing a range of bespoke printed home products and Liberty of London. Utilising her experience of creating and developing products and knowledge of printing, she uses luxury natural fabrics to create beautiful home products.
Her watercolours and illustrations are full of delicate, subtle colours, with a hand drawn & sketchy feel to them. Interiors and magazines seems the natural choice to display her work floral, with a new collection of paintings & drawings now available at the stunning and deVOL kitchens showroom in New York and forthcoming illustrations for 2021 for Liz Earle Wellbeing Magazine.
Clare also regularly exhibits her paintings in esteemed galleries and runs watercolour workshops at beautiful locations from Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, Daylesford Organic Farm, Cotswolds to local studios and venues in Scotland.
