Clare is a watercolour artist and textile designer with a love for the painterly and softly hand drawn images and floral designs. She grew up in Cheshire and her love of flowers and fine detail was apparent at a young age and went to study at Manchester College of Art and Design and graduated with a BA (Hons) in printed textiles from Loughborough College of Art and Design.
Working in London, in various textile/design roles for luxury menswear & womenswear brands, a year in Los Angeles, California as a textile designer for Samsung Textiles and then taking up a creative role with iconic British heritage company Mackintosh, brought her to Scotland
Since starting up on her own and establishing her own studio in Scotland five years ago, she has worked with Johnstons of Elgin, designing a range of luxurious home products and Liberty of London, creating their Viviana range inspired by old-fashioned scented roses. Using state of the art print technology to produce fine textiles, using luxury natural fabrics that capture the feel and essence of every brushstroke and delicate tones.
Her watercolours are full of delicate, subtle colours, with a hand drawn & sketchy feel to them. Interiors seems the natural choice to display her delicate floral watercolours, with a new collection of paintings & drawings now available at the stunning and amazing new deVOL kitchen showroom in New York, Bond Street.
Clare also regularly exhibits her paintings in esteemed galleries and runs watercolour workshops at beautiful locations from Daylesford Organic Farm, Cotswolds to farm shops in Scotland.
Currently a tutor at the RBGE Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh and recently working with charities, Maggies Cancer Centres and Capability Scotland using painting workshops to aid therapy and wellbeing.
